{"id":692,"date":"2020-08-25T15:19:03","date_gmt":"2020-08-25T22:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/create.twu.ca\/eportfolios\/?page_id=692"},"modified":"2024-09-05T10:05:48","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T17:05:48","slug":"reflection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/create.twu.ca\/eportfolios\/foundations\/reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reflection may seem intuitive; however, a deliberate thought process\u00a0<span id=\"8ae4ea51-b93e-46e7-9672-8a463427fe67\" class=\"abt-citation\" data-items=\"[&quot;2486821841&quot;,&quot;1195346473&quot;,&quot;3059515242&quot;]\" aria-describedby=\"tooltip_e2c2orbx5f\">\u200b(Dye, 2011; Moon, 2004; Tracey &amp; Hutchinson, 2018)\u200b<\/span>\u00a0greatly increases the insights found through reflection.\u00a0 Consider the pedestrian answer \u201cfine\u201d to the classic question \u201chow was your day?\u201d\u00a0 Reworking the question to \u201cwhat was the best part of your day and why?\u201d or \u201cwhat would you do-over today and why?\u201d elicits a much richer and informative response.\u00a0 The same is true for the reflective process.<\/p>\n<div id=\"tooltip_e2c2orbx5f\" class=\"tooltip\" role=\"tooltip\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<div class=\"tooltip-arrow abt-tooltip__callout\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"tooltip-inner abt-tooltip\">\n<div class=\"csl-entry\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"csl-entry\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"csl-entry\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>There are many different ways to reflect because there are many different reasons why reflection is needed.\u00a0 For example, you may want to account for what you have learned\u00a0<span id=\"07ffb89b-d165-4277-8b8a-2d69f4aef354\" class=\"abt-citation\" data-items=\"[&quot;2582527071&quot;]\" aria-describedby=\"tooltip_uspxvmerl6\">\u200b(McAlpine &amp; Weston, 2000)\u200b<\/span>, or you may want to explore and generate future action based on what you already know\u00a0<span id=\"51ab31ff-e540-47f9-a2a6-acd92f05ac1f\" class=\"abt-citation\" data-items=\"[&quot;3059515242&quot;]\">\u200b(Tracey &amp; Hutchinson, 2018)\u200b<\/span>, or you may want to evaluate or analyze what you have learned\u00a0<span id=\"5ae016e9-adc3-401e-9557-bf37e8b17fb0\" class=\"abt-citation\" data-items=\"[&quot;742921981&quot;]\">\u200b(Syed et al., 2012)\u200b<\/span>.
