I must admit I have a soft spot for pastors and people in the missionary field. My dad was a Presbyterian pastor and church planter for many years. I know first hand the challenges that being in ministry brings.

In your post, you mention not letting technology get in the way of connecting with someone and replacing face to face conversations. I think it is so easy to let that happen. Coming from a non-religious organizational standpoint I can tell you this happens more often than not. Especially in healthcare where the need to connect and collaborate in person isn’t always possible. We do utilize interoffice communications to connect with people in other departments. We also use Skype to share screens and teach other health units how to use new software and technologies. While this is a great way to get things done and be efficient, we have lost that face to face connection.

In your blog, you asked, “in what other ways can technology be used to help reach people for Jesus”?

I have been thinking about it and I believe a phone line that people could text their prayer requests and requests for advice somewhat anonymously. It is hard for people to ask for help especially in a congregational setting. The fear of judgment and being weak is prevalent. I remember being a teen and being terrified of altar calls and going up to the front or back of the church for prayer when I needed it. People are vulnerable in church and it is harder for others to let those walls down in a public setting.

Hi Daniel, Thank you for your post.
