{"id":344,"date":"2018-11-23T23:51:16","date_gmt":"2018-11-24T07:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/create.twu.ca\/kamalbadesha\/?p=344"},"modified":"2018-11-23T23:51:16","modified_gmt":"2018-11-24T07:51:16","slug":"response-to-leyla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/create.twu.ca\/kamalbadesha\/2018\/11\/23\/response-to-leyla\/","title":{"rendered":"Response to Leyla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cI also believe being able to adapt to new conditions requires the ability to critical thinking and becoming a life-long learner\u201d (Leyla, 2018).\u00a0 Leyla, you have shared a very important point.\u00a0 I can understand adapting to a new environment and setting must have been difficult for you.\u00a0 I have been there myself.\u00a0 \u00a0Whether moving to a new country or to a new organization we have to learn how to adapt and change.\u00a0 While personally, we may have to learn new lifestyle in order to function in the brand new society, this requires change.\u00a0 Similarly, when moving onto a new organization, or working with change in any given organization may create similar emotions.\u00a0 The five levels of change readiness by Lepsinger 2010 provide you with basic tools to assist with change. \u00a0What is really crucial about this model is the change talk.\u00a0 \u201cChange talk techniques include identifying the behaviour the person or team needs to change, building trust, exploring importance and confidence, and conducting a pro\/con analysis\u201d (Lepsinger, 2010, p.157).\u00a0 It is important to understand the significance of a change.\u00a0 Just as change is important to survive in a new environment, at times change is crucial when an organization adopts new ways of doing things.\u00a0 Part of adapting to a new environment or organization change is to learn from others.\u00a0 We add to our knowledge and growth from outside sources, whether making new friends or learning from sources within the organization.<\/p>\n<p>References<\/p>\n<p>Lepsinger\u00a0 R.
