(the first two sentences)<\/li>\n<li>The topic is depicted in a broad way.<\/li>\n<li>I found the subject matter appealing because the authors provide two possible explanations for the main topic which pique my interest of keeping reading it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2.There is a meaningful problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3=Excellent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence and\/or Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The authors claim that the existing understanding of servant leadership is not enough.<\/li>\n<li>Two problems are clearly addressed and stated explicitly.<\/li>\n<li>The first problem is about \u201cthe need to better understand the scope and magnitude of the influence that servant leadership has on a range of multilevel outcomes and\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The second problem is the need of more advanced research designs and more comprehensive explorations to help managers better apply servant leadership in the real world.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3.The importance of the problem is justified.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3=Excellent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence and\/or Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clear evidence of the importance of the problem is provided by plenty of references in the literature.<\/p>\n<p>For example: Hofmann, 2002; Yammarino &amp; Bass, 1991; Liden et al., 2008; Walumbwa et al., 2010a; and so on.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4.There are deficiencies in the knowledge about the problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3=Excellent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence and\/or Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The authors have identified several deficiencies about the problem:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The results of Walumbwa et al. (2010a) were not clear, therefore, the results need to be extended;<\/li>\n<li>The individual-level outcomes have received little attention by servant leadership scholars, therefore, need to be noticed;<\/li>\n<li>The traits linked to servant leadership and its outcome remain unclear.<\/li>\n<li>There is only one study has linked leader agreeableness to servant leader behaviors; no studies have investigated leader extraversion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5.There are audiences who can benefit from the missing knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1=Fair<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence and\/or Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The authors have not specifically mentioned in the end of the introduction, but in the second paragraph, scholars and managers are noted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6.The passage clearly argues that the study is warranted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3=Excellent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence and\/or Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The topic, problem, justification, deficiencies, and audiences form a quite logical and convincing argument that the study is of important and needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quality Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>7.The passage is well written.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3=Excellent<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence and\/or Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Concise enough, easy to follow.<\/li>\n<li>The proposed model (Figure 1) are especially helpful and visualized.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Total Score = 19 (17-21 = High quality)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reference<\/p>\n<p>Hunter, E.
