I know for many of you it was filled with a lot of learning &#8212; and hopefully you squeezed in a little play time for yourselves as well.<\/p>\n<p><em>If you haven&#8217;t already submitted the first draft of your Critical Thinking paper in the &#8220;Peer Review Forum&#8221; in Moodle, please upload it as soon as possible.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 1em 0px;padding: 0px;border: 0px currentColor;color: #000000;text-indent: 0px;letter-spacing: normal;font-family: 'Avenir LT W02 55 Roman', Arial, sans-serif;font-size: 17px;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\">One of my favorite\u00a0authors is educational philosopher Parker Palmer who wrote in\u00a0<em>The Active Life<\/em>, &#8220;The joy beyond despair comes when we abandon the\u00a0exhausting\u00a0illusion of self-sufficiency and\u00a0become\u00a0the grateful recipients of the gifts that life provides&#8221; (Palmer, 1990, p. 51)<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 1em 0px;padding: 0px;border: 0px currentColor;color: #000000;text-indent: 0px;letter-spacing: normal;font-family: 'Avenir LT W02 55 Roman', Arial, sans-serif;font-size: 17px;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\">Life (and learning) are, after all, gifts!
