I share my perspective of the Senge’s laws as I have never held a leadership position nor worked in such an environment before. As per me, these laws show the shortcomings that arise in every organization. The difference that an effective strategic leadership makes is by an understanding of the objectives of the organization and what works best for the long-term solutions. Dealing with the ever-changing environment demands formulation of strategic plans and its implementation.

Today’s problem comes from yesterday’s solution as stated by Senge is the perfect example of how short-term problem solving can lead to longstanding issues. In other case problem-solving in one of the sectors of the organization may adversely affect the other department. An effective solution to avoid such discrepancies is better communication between the leaders of respective divisions.

Another law is that the easy way out usually leads back in. This arises due to the adoption of orthodox methods of problem-solving. Often the fear of trying something new and failing keeps us from thinking out of the box. We resort to already known methods which backfire and add onto the already existing issues.

In my opinion, keeping the vision in mind and focusing on long-term outcomes while tackling the obstacles right ahead is the best practice which helps attain everlasting results in an organization.

Atha, D.
