Well, here we are!<\/strong> The end of Week 8 and entering Week 9!<\/p>\n

I know many of you<\/strong> experienced pressure beyond measure as a result of the WordPress technical challenges (and little to no orientation to the WordPress environment)<\/em> at the beginning of this course. Some of you considered quitting the course, other considered quitting the program, others simply were hard on themselves, while many of you in addition to those temptations, complained profusely about the way the online portions were handled.<\/p>\n

Your complaints and strong concerns<\/strong> were shared by me (personally and professionally)<\/em> and gave me an opportunity to advocate for change on your behalf and the change occurred!<\/p>\n

Below is an edited email<\/strong> (sans sensitive internal information)<\/em> sent from our Acting Director and Vice Provost Phil Laird regarding the future offerings of all<\/strong> MA LEAD courses:<\/p>\n

Moving away from WordPress<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

After much discussion over the past few weeks and some very intense discussions today, I have made the decision to move away for using WordPress for our online course platform at TWU.\u00a0 The development of new courses for the MA Lead, other online courses, and the FAR Center Courses will be transitioned and developed in the future under the MOODLE system.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Although I see some advantages of using WordPress, none of these advantages is sufficient to outweigh concerns and as a result we are moving away from WordPress as a platform for our online learning.<\/em><\/p>\n

Please begin the process of transitioning the development of online courses away from WordPress as soon as possible.<\/em><\/p>\n

Whether you embraced or persevered<\/strong> through this course and the technical challenges represented throughout, you will no longer be using WordPress in future courses. All future offerings in MA LEAD course offerings will occur in the MOODLE platform for all courses. Your voice was heard!<\/p>\n

After this weekend<\/strong>, you will have no BLOG requirements and can focus on completing your final assignment and the course evaluations and LDRS 501.\u00a0You are free to take the whole time to complete the coursework (December 7) or you can complete it earlier if you wish. The course evaluation link will appear in the MOODLE platform in Week 0 on December 1.<\/p>\n

If we have no opportunity to connect<\/strong> personally from this point forward, I want to thank you for persevering and making it through the course despite the challenges. I appreciate every one of you and the effort you made to complete the most obstacle laden course I ever taught. This speaks to your strength and commitment as leaders more than you might realize.<\/p>\n

As we move forward<\/strong> from here, I wish you all every success wherever your next steps lead you, a very successful future and a very merry Christmas season.<\/p>\n
