Above all, I am convinced that one can only walk the long haul of leadership through a sense of calling. It is knowing one’s calling that creates the stick-to-itiveness to continue in a place of leadership over time. I believe I have that calling and this leg of my journey is to equip myself further through taking a Masters of Educational Leadership. This blog will document my journey and unfolding development.

I titled my website “Lead-Innovate-Revolutionize” based on some readings I did this summer from George Couros. His book “The Innovators Mindset” was compelling for me. His premise was that as educators and educational leaders, we need to be constantly innovating. What is innovating? To take something and make it “new and better”. To extend others’ thinking. To take an idea and make it great. My hope is that through this program, I will become “new and better” and will revolutionize my practice so that I can be a compelling leader, bringing others along with me to innovate as well.

My name is Dawn and I am a mom to 5 great kids, wife to an amazing husband, and a Vice-Principal at a middle school in the Kootenays of BC. Leadership has always been a pursuit of mine, and I […]

["post-40","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry","clearfix
["GET
