What is Chicago Manual Style? <\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

The Chicago style is utilized to cite resources for miscellaneous fields, namely History, Philosophy, Literature, Humanities, and Social Sciences. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are two formats for this writing style: <\/span><\/p>\n

1) The Notes and Bibliography Style<\/span><\/p>

2) The Author–Date Style<\/span><\/p>\n

Footnotes and the bibliography style is commonly used for Historical and Literary texts and the author-date style is more common with Social Sciences. <\/p>\n

Basic Guidelines<\/span><\/font><\/span>
<\/p><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

– Margins should not be less than 1” and greater than 1.5”.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

– The font is recommended to be Times New Roman in 12-point type.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– The Text is left-aligned with a ragged right edge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– Paragraph beginnings are aligned 1.2”.<\/p>\n

– The pages should be numbered on the top-right-hand corner and begin on the first page of the text.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– The title is centred.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– If quotations are more than five lines or 100 words, they should be put in block quotations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– The text should be double-spaced except for the block.<\/p>\n

– Block quotations, table titles, and figure captions are single-spaced.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– Footnote numbers, that begin with 1 and are followed consecutively, are added at the end of the clause or sentence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– Subheadings are used for longer papers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
