I also provide examples of real-world transformational leaders.<\/p>\n<p>A key purpose of TL is to influence followers in such a manner that they accomplish far more than they would ordinarily have achieved for their organization (Northouse, 2016, p. 162). To actualize this, the leaders\u2019 interactions should exude the following: (a) idealized influence, (b) inspirational motivation, (c) intellectual stimulation, and (d) individualized consideration (Northouse, 2016; Smith, Montagno, &amp; Kuzmenko, 2004). With these interactions, followers become empowered; resulting in positive transformational changes (Quinn &amp; Spreitzer, 1997).<\/p>\n<p>The study by Smith et. al (2004), suggests that TL is more practicable for organizations where high skills, high performance, and innovation are a priority.<\/p>\n<p>Although TL and SL approach both focus on developing followers, a key difference lies in what each one considers most important; the priority of TL is the interest of the organization while for SL, it is the personal interests of followers (Smith et. al, 2004).<\/p>\n<p>An example of a real-world transformational leader was Nelson Mandela who is widely known to have positively transformed South Africa through his messages and more importantly, actions of reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Refences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Northouse, P.G.
