Get schooled at the Long Night Against Procrastination

Attention Education Students:

Have you been procrastinating in preparing lesson plans, units, or other Education assignments?

The Curriculum Resource Centre, on the upper level of Alloway Library, provides K-12 student and teacher resources, teachers manuals, juvenile literature and a great study space. Shelley Spencer will be available to provide reference assistance in the CRC from 5:30 – 8:30 during  the  Long Night Against Procrastination on Monday, October 15.

And,  when you are ready for a break from your studies, relax in the Reading corner with a selection of juvenile fiction (and possibly chocolate!)

Learn to cope with stress at the Long Night Against Procrastination

Ajay Erasmus is a Masters in Counselling Psychology student and an counselling intern at the  TWU Wellness Centre.  He will be in the library on Monday, October 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM to help you cope with stress and anxiety to make your long nights against procrastination productive.

Ajay will conduct two workshops at 7:00 and  at 8:30 where, he says, “We will go over how anxiety and stress affect the brain and how that manifests itself in our body. We’ll go over why you procrastinate, how sleep affects your brain. We will also cover practical tools to manage your stress and anxiety  and become more effective and functional through neuroscience. ”

If you have  other questions for him, Ajay will  be available for drop-in chats from 6:30-7:00 and 7:45-8:30. Look for him and the workshops in Room 206.

Look what you can do at the Long Night Against Procrastination.

TWU Nursing students, Tracy Chompunich, Jyoti Deol, Grace Lim and Priscilla Wong are creating a guided meditation station for the Long Night Against Procrastination. This Monday, October 15, Study Room 211 will become a quiet space for students to choose themes to meditate on.

The nursing students say “Come join us for a self-guided meditation session between 6:30 pm and midnight. We will provide the information for apps that you can download on your phone according to different meditation themes. Feel free to stop by as this is a chance for you to relax before a long night of studying. Be sure to bring your headphones or borrow some from the library’s Reserve counter.”
