Dear faculty,<\/p>

Can\u2019t think of what to get yourself for Christmas? Alloway Library has a suggestion. We\u2019re willing to buy\u00a0 for you up to five of your favourite, discipline-related books. Not only that, but we\u2019ll also provide a safe, well-organized space at the library for them to live in perpetuity. All you have to do is let us know what you\u2019d like and we\u2019ll do the rest!\u00a0<\/p>Love, Alloway Library<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

After the success of last two years\u2019 initiatives in which we\u2019ve received several hundred excellent \u201cfaculty picks\u201d for the library, we are pleased to invite faculty to select print and electronic books to enrich the library\u2019s collection.\u00a0 \u00a0(If you are a student, talk to your instructor about resources you think the library should get to support your studies.)\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. This offer is for each TWU faculty member<\/strong>, part-time or full-time.<\/li>
  2. Send us up to FIVE<\/strong> titles, preferably published since 2010, which would provide significant benefit to students in your particular program\/areas of teaching. You may request more than five titles, but please indicate which five are most important; the remaining titles will be placed on a wait-list for purchase in future fiscal years. <\/li>
  3. Please also specify the format<\/strong> of your requested titles. (Note that in general the library prefers electronic books but will gladly buy print titles on request, or when the price difference between print and electronic formats is too great.)<\/li>
  4. Requests for extremely expensive<\/strong> titles (e.g., more than $250) will be subject to review by library management.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Please send your list to KenPearson<\/strong> (ken.pearson@twu.ca<\/a>) in Library Acquisitions<\/strong>\u00a0by February 15th<\/strong>. Since items must be received by the library before the end of the current fiscal year (30 April 2019) and funds are limited, the earlier you send us your recommendations the greater chance that they will be promptly purchased.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
