{"id":223,"date":"2018-11-11T05:19:09","date_gmt":"2018-11-11T05:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/create.twu.ca\/principalmorrow\/?p=223"},"modified":"2018-11-11T05:19:09","modified_gmt":"2018-11-11T05:19:09","slug":"response-to-norm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/create.twu.ca\/principalmorrow\/2018\/11\/11\/response-to-norm\/","title":{"rendered":"Response to Norm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In his post, <a href=\"https:\/\/create.twu.ca\/norm\/2018\/11\/09\/unit-7-activity-1\/\">Norm<\/a> asks how I have responded to unethical behaviour in my context.\u00a0 I suppose that there is the unethical behaviour that I am aware of and that which I am not aware of.\u00a0 I am pleased and thankful that there are not many instances of unethical behaviour which come to mind as I consider your question.\u00a0 As I reflect on the few instances I have dealt with, I know that it has been important for me to work together with the individual to see a positive outcome.\u00a0 I have leveraged the great relationship I have with the team that I work with to guide, coach, mentor and direct an individual to an outcome which is favourable for both the individual and our organization.\u00a0 I think it is important to note that if a leader is not ethical themselves then they do not have a foundation for addressing unethical behaviour in others.\u00a0 This underscores the importance of the ethical leadership behaviours described by Avolio and Gardner (2005).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Avolio, B. &amp; Gardner, W.
