As a person, I have come to realize that I am strong at problem-solving through creative thinking, which includes coming up with new solutions to problems, resolving workplace disputes, finding new data results, and developing new products or technologies. I had no idea I had these qualities. But after starting my MA Lead course, I started to realize these qualities, which is a great result of doing my MA Lead program. Humans must engage in social interaction, reside in societies with established institutions, and uphold moral standards (Ross, 1994). As a result, I think it’s important for us to engage in social interaction, share our ideas, and be a positive influence in the lives of others if we want to be transformational servant leaders. This essay is a summary of my reflection that provides responses to the questions from the week 2 assignment.

According to my Birkman report (Birkman International Inc, personal communication, January 11, 2022), I am a people person and am good at communicating with others in public or any events. In daily interactions, it is essential to be able to quickly and efficiently identify others’ thoughts, feelings, and future behavior, according to Blakemore and Decety (2001). I started to realise how important each person’s life is. Being an extrovert person as per my Birkman assessment, understanding people and their experiences has helped me realize how precious each person’s life is. Additionally, I have good interpersonal abilities that have been extremely helpful for me in both my professional and personal lives. Due to this quality, I have also faced numerous challenges.

I learned from my Birkman assessment that I need to improve my listening abilities. Even if I’m good at communicating with others, I need to raise my level of listening. In my opinion, effective communication is crucial to transformational servant leadership. Communication is essential in daily life. It serves as the foundation of all human connection and is the most frequent daily activity. It influences every aspect of who we are and what we do, and it is a highly complex social characteristic. God gave upon us the ability to communicate with one another and preserve culture through the gift of language. Additionally, listening has a significant impact. Jesus was also an excellent listener. I always place Jesus as my role model.

As previously stated, I wish to develop better listening skills as part of my effective communication style. I also need to work on improving my ability to trust other people. I think it’s essential for leaders to work on ensuring transparency. According to Piercy (2019), leaders can promote trust by using these two components in their leadership style. Teams and people are more likely to create trust when they believe their presence and ideas matter. It is important to remember that depending on the type of relationships, developing trust can be just as difficult as building it (Page, 2010). Individuals and groups need to feel confident in their leaders, and they may do this by demonstrating transformative servant leadership, just like Jesus did.

After enrolling in the MA Lead program, I discovered that I have a talent for independent thought and that I enjoy sharing the gospel with people all over the world. These are the two gifts I now recognize God has given me. After I finish this course, I may have a better understanding of who I am and what my gifts are. I want to further strengthen my abilities in video editing and grow my YouTube channel. I am a vlogger with about 3000 subscribers on my own channel. I believe I should therefore enhance the quality of my videography. I’ll be honest and say that I haven’t learned or trained with any software yet. But right now, I want to learn how to use new editing software that will enable me to understand more about editing features. In my opinion, self-awareness is crucial for developing into a wise leader. I was able to recognize this and improve my skills because of my Birkman assessment and my MA Lead program.

As a result of my action research, I have chosen to develop the abilities that I am looking to improve in the future. Currently, I’m considering joining in a new software training course where I can improve my editing abilities. Additionally, I began requesting opportunities to share the gospel from my youth team so that I might reach out to many others who have not yet embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior. The Bible claims that God’s people were given a variety of “spiritual gifts” to help them serve one another (King James Version, 2016, 1 Corinthians 12:4–31). I think I should use the talents God has given me in the upcoming days and serve as great transformational servant leader.
