A Prayer for Praise in All Seasons

When you take away security, relationships, mobility, and the lives of people I love, do not let me be the doubter of your goodness.

Lord, I praise you for you are worthy of praise every moment.

You are the maker of this world and you are the one who gives and takes away.

Help me to praise you regardless of what you give and take away.

When you give abundance, stability, community, and good health, do not let me be the lover of this world.

When you take away security, relationships, mobility, and the lives of people I love, do not let me be the doubter of your goodness.

In times of trouble, let me trust in you and be at peace with not understanding what your plan is for me.

Let me be reminded that the pain in this world is ephemeral, and gain hope from the truth that I will be forever in your presence after this life.

Let me be firm in my faith even in the times of persecution – let me love you more than my life.

Let me choose to praise you just for who you are, but not for what you do for me.

Lord, you are the Alpha and Omega, and I give my life to you from the beginning to the end.

Be praised, holy God.
