Linear Perspective

Expression + Experimentation Artist injects their own voice and expression into the project. Creates a powerful image. Draws the viewer in. Makes us look for longer than expected.
Linear Perspective Linear perspective is accurate. Vanishing lines converge to one or two points on the horizon line. Perspective is consistent throughout the drawing. Drawing what they see. Evidence of careful observation.
Space + Spatial Cues All four spatial cues (vertical positioning, overlapping, atmospheric perspective, diminishing size) have been used to create the illusion of depth. Spatial cues are used consistently throughout the image to create a convincing illusion of deep space.
Composition Strong composition. Engages all four format edges. Negative and positive space contribute to the compositional whole. Value and texture are used to create visual interest. Repetition and value are used to unify composition.
Value Range Full range of value in the drawing. Value patterns contribute to a strong composition. Value patterns contribute to the illusion of depth and space especially through the use of atmospheric perspective.
