Unit 2 – Learning Activity 3

Unit 2 – Learning Activity 3

I always enjoy learning more about myself so I really enjoyed doing these self-examinations. In regards to the Leadership Trait questionnaire, my largest gap in between my ‘self-score’ (3) and ‘average-score’ (4.6) was being “diligent”. With the Leadership style questionnaire I actually scored equal (37) on both my task score and my relationship score. On my Leadership Theory and Practice questionnaire my technical skills score was 27, the human skills score was 23, and conceptual skills score was 25.

How I interpret this is that I perceive myself as not doing as much work as I am doing, however I seem to have a firm grasp on the different styles of leadership based on the fact that the scores were both in the ‘moderately high range’ bracket. I wholeheartedly believe that this is learned thing based on what I do for my career and what is involved with it; I am forced to lead based on the needs of the groups and how they need me to lead in order to function effectively. On the flip side, I did have the thought that this could mean that I am a “jack-of-all-trades” but a master of none. A question for myself is do I need to  actually start developing one leadership style so that I master it? I don’t know.
