I agree with you that Walmart while being great for the consumer is terrible for the small business owner. Walmart cuts costs so drastically it is impossible for other businesses to compete causing many to close.

I appreciate the comparison between Walmart and Canada Post. It is unfortunate Canada Post did not see the need to include technological advances into their day to day operations. I wonder if they had introduced technology to their operating procedures would they be in the predicament they are now with the current strike? Would employees feel as overworked? Would technology have lightened their load? In comparison, Walmart is constantly trying to compete with other online markets. Using discounts for consumers who order online, offering a pickup service for online orders just to name a few of their new services.  Walmart has also developed an app which showcases weekly deals and discounted items, customers can order directly through the app. Do you think if Canada Post had introduced some technological changes it would have improved their services?
