I’m going to take this from the perspective of an instructor in a program that is burgeoning.  (I know it’s not quite the topic assigned/ how to avoid becoming a victim, but I’d rather write on this aspect of Digital Literacy!) In the past year our MA Lead program has grown by at least 30%, maybe more. This is great!  It’s also a challenge for instructors to keep quality standards and nurture community.

At TWU where we aim to inspire hearts and minds, our community is very important.  These are the questions I am thinking about as I begin this Orientation to Digital Learning:

  • In terms of the skills I am trying to develop, what kinds of interaction will be most useful? What media or technology could I use to facilitate that kind of interaction?
  • In terms of the effective use of my time, what kinds of interaction will produce a good balance between student comprehension and student skills development, and the amount of time I will be interacting personally or online with students?

I don’t have answers yet but stay tuned!
