My journey- Swarn

Hi, LDRS501
\

Hello everyone,

My name is Swarnjeet Kaur. I am an international student from North India. I am married to the love of my life, Sukhjit Singh for eleven years. We have three kids. We lost our second kid, our eleven months old daughter due to severe brain viral. That was the biggest loss of our life. Exactly after one year we were blessed again with a daughter. God is so great. My son Sahib is 7 years old and my daughter Asees is 18 months old. May god bless them a long and prosperous life.

I did my MA in English literature from India and worked as a teacher for two years. After marriage I went to Australia and I did my management in Hospitality from Melbourne. I worked as a chef till the birth of my son. Then we went back to India to our family and started my career as an elementary teacher there. I worked for four and a half years with all ups and downs, faced my daughter and grandmother’s deaths in between. I have learned many things from my grandmother and my father is an inspiration for me to work hard. I took break in career to welcome my third baby. After my daughter’s birth I decided to get back on track and for that I decided to update myself. Then I opted to do MA in leadership. My whole family supported me for this, as I needed to be a strong and a confident person. Finally I am here to grab this great opportunity and to meet highly experienced educators. I am staying here in Surrey with my brother and sister-in-law. Waiting eagerly for my family to come and join me. Miss them so much.

I already completed my two courses 500 and 591 on campus this summer. It was totally a new experience for me which gave me a lot of new understandings and knowledge regarding leadership. I developed my critical thinking skill and become confident to speak up and share my views. I am still working on it. I changed my stream from education to business so I really need to learn a lot for this new venture of my life. Hope to get through well.

I love cooking for my family. Me and my husband like the sunset scenes and spent time together whenever we get chance to enjoy sunset and we recall all the beautiful moments.

I look forward to learn many new things.

  1. Hi Swarn!! I am excited to be in another class with you! You and your husband are such a cute couple. I am excited for you all to be united. I am putting up a note in my office to remember to pray for a quick reunion! In the meantime, I am glad that you have family in Canada – it makes it a little easier doesn’t it? I have fond memories of our time together this summer. Text or email me anytime!
