  1. I really enjoyed listening to your story and you have delivered it in a very good way. I highly appreciate your good work. You indeed reflect the characteristics of a true servant leader. Thank you for sharing your story.

  2. What a powerful story of identifying an important need — and waiting for an ideal opportunity to lead the work that would address that important need. This is such a great example of community-wide engagement in supporting a project that helps others! Your compassion plays such a crucial role in this story — an open and compassionate heart created the pathway for using your particular skills to make the world better for others. Thanks so much for sharing your story!

  3. Hello Bantu, I too was impressed by your story. As a leader you saw the need of individuals that were suffering and perhaps could not afford treatment. You did not dismiss this but thought through how you could make a difference and acted on that out of your compassion and leadership. It was great to hear of how many people you influenced.

  4. Thank you for sharing your very interesting story.
I find your introduction both encouraging and thought-provoking. I agree that followers should be speaking well of successful leaders when they are not present. However, my experience has been that even good transformational servant leaders sometimes have to make difficult decisions, or, by virtue of being transformational, they provoke change. Either of these scenarios can be upsetting or threatening to others, so they don’t speak well of the leader even though they are doing the right thing. Also, I find it uplifting and refreshing that everyone was praising your team for the work that they had done; often times others can be jealous of the successes of their colleagues and don’t speak well of the individuals involved or the work that was done.
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and your experience in your final year and how your concern for patients who are suffering led you down the path of preventative measures. This certainly reminded me Unit 9 and the study that we did on foresight. You certainly demonstrated this leadership trait in that moment.
I was very excited hearing about the project because I am such a strong supporter of prevention in any area of medicine. You must have shown great potential to be selected as the only student representative on the team. What a tremendous opportunity for you!
Thank you again for your insights during this course and your very encouraging words to myself and the other students.
