Good to read from you, I totally agree with your responses that leadership is a combination of Transformational servant leadership and Strategic leadership, they exist together. Likewise, in our country, the idea about leadership is misunderstood in the most institution. While just few practice transformational leadership, more practice strategic leadership without transforming or inspiring those around them. Leadership is seen as an entitlement and position, an opportunity to showcase their personal capabilities and power in our country. It is my wish that more leaders will come to the light of TSL and strategic leadership combined in order to bring effective results in all spheres of leadership. Likewise, those of us who have had the opportunity to be in the TWU leadership program should also model the way in our country effectively and produce results.

Transformational leadership is about inspiring and engaging others to create a transformation. Huges et, al, 2014 also submit that the heart of leadership of leadership is engaging others to create shared direction, alignment, and commitment. No leader will be a successful Transformational leader all by himself or herself, both TSL and strategic leadership are required likewise the people.

Hi Shaaz,

I appreciate your effort and your thought towards transformational servant leadership and strategic leadership in Business. I agree with you on your submission that the combination of TSL and strategic leadership is an unstoppable force if used wisely. It made me wonder in which way can a leader be a transformational servant leader but not a strategic leader, or maybe a strategic leader but not a transformational servant leader. How will a leader effectively transform his followers without enacting strategic leadership? According to Huges et al, 2014, Individual enact strategic leadership when they create direction, alignment, and commitment. I see this three key strategic factors as an attribute of TSL. Strategic Leadership and TLS are not only combined, but they also facilitate effective followers transformation progress.

In addition, to create a business strategy and sustain a business effectively, Huges et al, 2014 submit that no single person can do what is needed to achieve the enduring performance potential of the organisation. The strategic capabilities of both the leader and everybody involved are needed.

A very thoughtful post you have here, I enjoyed reading from you. I also appreciate your effort in clearly picking out this key points. I totally agree with you on Transformational servant leadership and strategic direction, and I picked your word that “people will be the engine to move strategies forward”(Boyder 2018). A TSL needs to be an inclusive leader, in order to do things with people rather than to people. Huges et al,2014 also submitted that the heart of leadership is engaging others to create shared direction, alignment, and commitment. Likewise, people are committed when they know their contribution to the needs of the organization is welcomed.

In Addition to your submission on TSL and Critical thinking. In TSL, a leader making critical thinking his or her regular thinking will assist the leader to locate boundaries in order to strategies and also be able to transform the lives of the followers.
