New Course Schedule Update
Hi all;
So we are slowly working through the access issues for LDRS 501. Despite several missteps on the part of technical services and the extra assistance provided to date, there are still several people having difficulty connecting to the WordPress format.
The majority of you have posted and I have responded as they appear. As a result of those challenges however and the fear some have expressed in falling behind, I am shifting the due dates again to allow those who are still unable to post the oportunity to get the access they need and post to the introductory posting site.
In effect this change represents a reset of course due dates as far as dates go. Please see the plan below to get a clearer picture for where I am going with course due dates and information.
- Your original due date for the Introductory Blog was September 24, 2018 @ 23:59.
- This was changed to Friday, September 28, 2018 @ 23: 59
- The new due date for your Introductory Blog is now Monday, October 1, 2018 @ 23:59 – 1 week later than the original due date.
- The original due date for Assignment 1 was September 30, 2018 @ 23:59
- This was changed to 8 days following the orientation day to Friday, October 5 @ 23:59
- The new due date for Assignment 1 is now Sunday, October 7, 2018 @ 23:59 – 1 week later than the original due date.
- The original due date for Blog 1 in Week 2 was October 7, 2018 @ 23:59
- The new due date for Blog 1 in Week 2 is now Sunday, October 14, 2018 @ 23:59 – 1 week later than the original due date.
- I am willing to engage another ZOOM meeting if there is interest to outline where we are going despite the challenges of Week 1.
- The technical challenges experienced in Week 1, though frustrating, have very little to do with course expectations, but I am interested in hearing from you as we go forward.
- Let me know via email response of your interest (as many or as few as want to connect) and I will provide a ZOOM link for Monday, October 1, 2018 @ 7 pm PST.
- I will assign teams this week for future Assignments and provide PressBooks instruction in the coming week so you can prepare for working in that format as well. But it doesn’t make any sense to keep the assignment and first blog dates the same when we received such a technical curveball in Week 1.
We will assess what future progress will look like this week also. One option is to shift everything 1 week, with a Blog Post dues in what would have normally been the 5th week break so we can finish on time. Your feedback on how we address this missed week in what was to be Week 1 is appreciated.
Thank you for your perseverance and time in owrking through the challenges this week I greatly appreciate your commitment and it shows me you are all very resilient when it comes to facing unexpected challenges. Thank you.
