Hi! My name is B. To be honest, I’m a bit nervous about going back to school. It’s been several years since I was in college.
I currently work full time with a Christian nonprofit in Vancouver leading our Youth Department. I get to lead and disciple teens and I LOVE what I do! I’ve been in this role for almost 6 years and felt like it was time for a bit of a change. I am taking a year sabbatical in order to pursue the Master of Arts in Leadership full time.
Not only did I feel it was time for a change in gears, but I want to continue to improve myself. I believe that good leaders never stop growing. I felt that the best way for me to grow in my leadership abilities at this point in my life is to pursue formal education. This brought me to pursue the Master of Arts in Leadership.
I’m excited to be learning with you!

Hi Britt,
We’re excited to be learning with you as well! Welcome to TWU.
As someone who returned to school after a significant amount of time off to complete my MEd, I know that the prospect can be both exciting and daunting. The whole purpose of this orientation is to help make that transition as smooth as possible for you.
You are certainly not alone in ‘changing gears’.
I’m looking forward to your perspective on digital literacy from someone working with youth!
Colin
