Hi Matt,
I really enjoyed reading your post and the impact of Wolfe’s work on your leadership. One part in your response that stood out to me was the term “fluid leader”, which I found to be a unique combination of those two words. I think it is essential to have flexibility as a leader, and I liked the simplicity of the term, especially when referencing the need to constantly be self-aware.
The insight you gained about improved self-awareness and how, in supporting your teams growth and goals, you will directly benefit is another key point for me. In serving their needs, you are showing your commitment to them and building trust in your relationships. This will “create environments where people can feel good about their work and how it contributes to the greater community” (Northouse, 2018, p 177). With my own work, I find that I am regularly challenged to make sure I am aware of the needs of my coworkers and not just organizational mandates.
