An opinion leader I have identified is Reverend Funke Felix-Adejumo. I follow her on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter social media platforms. Links to her accounts are as follows: Facebook – @FunkeFAdejumo, Twitter – @ffadejumo, Instagram – @ffadejumo. In addition to these, her personal website address is www.funkefelixadejumo.org.
Reverend Funke Felix Adejumo is truly passionate about womanhood. She exudes a divine calling which entails showing women how to actualize their divine purpose on earth. This implies showing women how to honour God and also remain a blessing to humanity.
One significant idea which Reverend Funke espouses is that all women should embrace financial freedom and should as a matter of utmost necessity, work towards attaining financial independence. Another, could be summed up in this statement she quite often makes to women – “if you have to compromise your faith to get it, then it is not worth having!”
As a leader and one who is truly passionate about women’s empowerment, I truly agree with Reverend Funke’s ideas that women should constantly develop their talents and skills in order to remain financially independent. The ultimate aim being to be able to contribute financially to their household by being a help-mate to their husbands just as the Bible teaches. https://youtu.be/m_hc5JW7saM
At the LEAH foundation we are constantly supporting women to acquire different vocational skills and also to provide them with empowerement tools to actualise their dreams.
I must admit that it feels a little bit awkward to have to advise Reverend Funke even though I fully agree that no human is perfect. After much thought I think she can better influence people by her consistency. Over the years she has created an identity that has been accepted and is been followed by millions all over the world. She needs to continue to build on this impactful brand.
Reverend Funke’s values, ethics and principles truly align with mine regarding leadership. This is exemplified in the fact that we both strongly believe in leading by example. Like her, I also constantly and consciously seek to live by the same standards which we share with others.
She demonstrates a key servant leader principle through her commitment to the growth and development of her protégés. I also share in this principle of stopping at nothing to better the lives of people around me.
Another value that stands out for me is Her selflessness at bringing laughter and succor to the lives of the down trodden. Her love and worship of God is worthy of emulation. Her life is governed by the truth of His word.
I am so proud to be a mentee of this great woman of God. She is indeed a great leader.
