This is a painting I am currently creating for my mom’s cousin. This piece has been an exciting learning experience as I have never painted a horse before, and I get to invent the colours as I am painting from a black and white reference. The photo here is the most recent update. I plan to work on its right ear, shoulder and mane in the back a bit before selling it.

In the second image, you might also see that I was experimenting with a palette knife in a way I had never tried before. The background is entirely made with a palette knife, and I ran a nearly empty knife over the face to add colour to the textured bumps of the under-paint.
