What is the first thing you notice about this painting?
The first thing I noticed about this painting is the drips of color. The reds bleeding through the blues, the organic blockiness of the colors, the vibrant aqua blue & green streak over it. Very beautiful use of color. I am curious what this painting would look like without the drips, as a viewer, I think the may take away from one of the strengths of the painting (which would be the crisp blocks of color. P3 compared to P2, Id like to see more of that coral pink. I think even though this is an abstract painting, the layers of gradient colors are a strength.
What is your point of entry?
The thin reds are the point of entry in my opinion.
What about this painting is inviting you in?
The bright blobs are the most visually inviting part of this painting. I’d love to see more layers of lighter values over a couple of the major sections.
What part of the painting is shouting the loudest? What part is the quietest? Does this relationship feel right? How would you like to see this altered?
The loudest part is the blue. and the greens. I enjoy how these interact with the rest of the painting and think I wouldn’t alter it much other than adding more coral.

Welcome to this place,
where I go in my dreams,
where I let my mind wander
and dip my toes in cold streams.
This place smells like citrus fruits
and tastes of artificial grape.
It’s melting in place,
in my mind and memory,
feeling like an only half
experienced dream.
Fig trees and sugar plumb ferries
dance in my head.
This is a lucid place,
like the 60s verging on 70s
and I know I should leave because
it’s not meant to last
but I’d like to stay forever,
forget present and past.
