While I did not complete the ear study in this assignment, Sedrick Huckaby was the artist that inspired me the most as I learned about these artists. I found Sedrick’s style of painting fascinating because it is quite different than mine. I love how textured his mark-making is and that the brushstrokes appear to be made out of skin. I find Huckaby’s art style difficult to replicate because the paint is very thick and bold while also accurate. When I paint, the brushstrokes tend to blend into each other more than Sedrick’s brushstrokes.
