Hello Everyone! My name is Wafa Siyam, and I am a certified medical laboratory technologist in Canada with a bachelor’s degree in Medical and Biological Analysis. My undergraduate degree, my internship year, and my work experience have molded me into a hardworking, motivated person, team-oriented, and passionate individual. Leadership aspirations led me to volunteer at the Canadian blood services-CBS in 2006, and British Colombia Society of Laboratory Science – BCSLS 2017.

My core values are honesty, teamwork, compassion, and ethics. When it comes to teamwork, I have committed to team growth’ committing to teaching, training staff and allow them to learn. To serve better our students from BCIT in their practicum, I attend to each student’s needs, acts as a mentor or coach the students and listen to their concerns and needs. I convey empathy and support and keep communication open. My professional goals are to utilize my knowledge and leadership skills to encourage and promote innovative ideas to advance healthcare professional. I value my community and promote my culture that brings public health interest and always places patient safety first.

Finally, I am a site coordinator for BCSLS, and it is a voluntary job. I strive to coordinate and promote telehealth seminars of interest offered by BCSLS to The Regional Laboratory. My ultimate goal is, providing and expanding opportunities for our members to meet and communicate to gain advice and support one another in their professional practice and career development. I do enjoy serving people passionately which encouraged me to join Trinity Western University.
