TWU Library Re-Opens Jan 18!

The Norma Marion Alloway Library will re-open Monday, January 18!

The Library will be operating on a reduced schedule, visit our hours of operation.

The following spaces and services will be open:

  • Contactless Hold Pickup Service will be available at the Borrower Services Desk.
  • Computer Lab
    Access to 8 computers and the copier / printer will be available on the main floor.
  • Study Space
    Access to 6 spaces will be available for individual study only.  Students are encouraged to study in their dorm rooms or in their residence as much as possible. Students with documented disabilities through the  Centre for Accessible Learning have access to the Glass Room as a dedicated study space. The space is limited to 8 students.
  • Specialized Collections
    Access to TWU Archives and Special Collections and the Curriculum Resource Centre will be by appointment only.
  • Washrooms
    Washrooms on the main floor will be available.

Cleaning supplies are available to sanitize the computer equipment  and study spaces before and after use.

Please note that there will be no access to browse print material, nor access to study space on the upper or lower levels. For more information, visit the Library’s COVID-19 Response page.

Contactless Holds Pickup – Holiday Closure

Important Notice:

TWU Library Contactless Holds Pickup service will close for the holidays from December 19 to January 3.

Friendly reminder to place and pick up holds by Friday, December 18 before the holiday closure.

Holds placed before 3 pm on in-library material  can usually be picked up that same day.

1) Place holds at twu.ca/library
2) Receive notification when material is ready
3) Pick up during TWU Library hours

Contactless Holds Pickup will resume on Monday, January 4 with reduced hours from 9 am to 3 pm.

Individuals can pick up Holds material from the lower level loading dock area (north side of the library building) while the main floor of the Library remains closed.

TWU Library’s main floor will re-open Monday, January 18 and our core hours resume.

Borrower Services Holiday Closure – Dec 19 to Jan 3

TWU Library Borrower Services will be  closed for the Holidays from December 19 to January 3.

There will be no Contactless Holds Pickup, Scan and Deliver Service, or Inter Library Loan during the holiday closure. This service will resume on Monday, January 4.

  • December 19 – January 3: CLOSED
  • January 4-14: OPEN from 9 am to 3 pm

Individuals can pick up Holds material in the lower level loading dock area (north side of the building) while the main floor remains closed.

TWU Library’s main floor will re-open Monday, January 18, hours of operation:

  • Monday to Thursday:  8:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Friday: 7:45 am – 4:30 pm

TWU Library Closure – December 10 to January 15

Important Notice: During the installation of a new HVAC system on the main level of the Norma Alloway Library and Learning Commons, the building will be closed  from December 10 until January 15.

The following TWU Library services will continue during  reduced hours of service.

  • Contactless Holds Pickup  from the library’s lower level loading dock.
  • Scan and Deliver Requests
  • Virtual Research Help Desk (email: infodesk@twu.ca)
  • Material can be returned to the drop box at the front door anytime.
  • Wireless Printing – TWU/ACTS students can send print jobs to the library printer from their own device from anywhere on campus, using the PaperCut App. (The library is not responsible for unclaimed documents.)

Hours for Borrower Services,  including  Contactless Holds Pickup, will be:

December 10 -18:  Weekdays, 9 am to 3 pm
December 19 – January 3: CLOSED, no onsite services (no Holds Pickup available)
January 4-15:  Weekdays, 9 am to 3 pm

TWU Library’s main floor will re-open Monday, January 18 and core hours resume.
