A season of work on the campus chime was completed this week when technicians from Verdin Bells closed the circular hatch of the campanile after two days of cleaning, tuning and adjusting all 15 bells in the chime.
The work began in February when TWU student Chloe Thiessen began working on compositions for the chime and identified several musical issues with the chime and documented them.
In the summer TWU work crews pressure washed the belfy and then replaced the damaged anti-bird netting with new netting.
The result of all this work is clearer tones and smoother action of the bells resulting in brighter and better sounds around campus.
